Overdue investments continue to pile up for New York’s aging infrastructure. The Center for an Urban Future states that while Super-storm Sandy focused much-needed attention on key pieces of NYC’s infrastructure, the city faces a number of other vulnerabilities that have little to do with storm-preparedness. These range from from aging water mains and deteriorating roads to many crumbling public schools.

An alarming report states that if left unchecked, they could wreak havoc on the economy of The Big Apple and and quality of life of New Yorkers.

City Island Images has learned that Tutor Perini Corporation and NYC Department of Transportation are looking into the possibility of making a change to the proposed design of The City Island Bridge.

DOT is working with Tutor Perini Corporation to develop changes on the design, which may be more in keeping with the esthetic wishes of City Island residents.

Meanwhile, City Island Images has been working diligently and is now in final negotiations and completing preparations to place another live camera at no cost to taxpayers, which will be streaming video 24/7 of The City Island Bridge, including the long anticipated construction project for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Unlike others who for years have promised to install cameras all over City Island, City Island Images is the only group which has actually made good on this promise and for free.

The courts, news-persons and journalism educators want the public to know that cops may need to begin brushing up on case law.

Circuit judges and US Supreme Court ruled that law abiding citizens may film police in public while they're protecting and serving, providing they're not interfering with the work of police officials. They're not judge and jury whenever any citizen decides to record them.
