GOP Nightmare Ending

The never-ending war Republicans started and gave legitimacy to Taliban terrorists then agreed to a withdrawal is beginning to end.

More than 2400 lives were lost and a trillion dollars were wasted. One more year, or five more years, of U.S. military presence, would not have made a difference. The GOP's moral compass is obviously crooked as they came up with a shady shady decision to withdraw without a real plan. America’s retreat in Afghanistan may not end the war, but perpetuate it by ensuring future generations will continue to fight, at a higher cost. The Republicans started the war and The Democrats are ending it. Remember the shameful Trump-Taliban ‘Peace’ Agreement that released prisoners and reduced the American military. 

#Republicans were trying to sabotage @JoeBiden @TheDemocrats since his candidacy was announced. The former Afghan President reportedly left with $169m in cash landed in UAE, after this #TrumpTaliban deal. Why was @POTUS Biden kept out of talks? Why are few GOP members are willing to defend Trump/Pompeo/Taliban peace agreement?

The Afghanistan catastrophe started with Republicans Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld but the GOP once again wants Americans to forget that their massive and costly mistakes over the past two decades never happened. Joe Biden, a Democrat knows how difficult this was for him. He was the only president that had a son serving in the Middle East. I’m sure his heart is heavy and this was difficult for him. Thank you, POTUS for the wisdom, integrity, and compassion to end the war. President Biden deserves credit for making the tough call. For decades @USAGov lied to #WeThePeople about Afghanistan. POTUS Biden had the courage to put an end to a 20-year disaster. But we have not seen the final chapter.

One year ago, Trump released 5,000 Taliban fighters in exchange for a cease-fire to help his flailing presidential campaign, despite strenuous objections from both the Pentagon and the Afghan government. President Ashraf Ghani warned that their release would be a “danger to the world.” 

Make no mistake, this is the result of failed Republican policies of weakness and retreat. Trump was in a rush to both claimed responsibility for withdrawing the American military from Afghanistan and also weirdly, to have some kind of peace deal with the Taliban. Some folks not only deny the former guy invited the Taliban to Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11, but he set a withdrawal date for may of this year and cut American troops down to 2,500 in Afghanistan.

The GOP Trump and Pence made the disastrous 2020 Taliban deal that tied America’s hands. They backed the disastrous 2003 Iraq invasion that undercut us in Afghanistan then drove us to this day. It is POTUS Biden who saved the day. POTUS says he will not pass the responsibility of Afghanistan on to a fifth president  The former guy attacked a #POW, #GoldStar family  and a military widow. He said the fallen heroes of war “suckers and losers”. Let Putin put bounties on the heads of our soldiers.The GOP said nothing. Now they’re outraged on behalf of our veterans… And do it goes.
