US Senators have unanimously agreed to pass the House-backed bill forcing the Justice Department to release the Jeffrey Epstein case files as soon as it’s received from the chamber. Majority leader John Thune said that would happen tomorrow. Senators will not have to take any further action, and the bill will be sent to President Donald Trump, who has said he’d sign the legislation, a stark reversal in his position.
Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 38 percent, the lowest of his term, driven by anger over high living costs and his shifting stance on releasing the Epstein files.

In the years following President Kennedy’s assassination, three Kennedy women worked to commemorate his life and legacy. Rose, his mother, relied upon her memories to recreate his birthplace as the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site. Jackie, his wife, used her experiences as First Lady to inform her vision of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. A very lively and combative final debate for New York City mayor underscored Andrew Cuomo’s last-ditch shot as he seeks to stop frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s efforts to win City Hall. The former governor and the Republican nominee, Curtis Sliwa, teamed up to attack Mamdani on his inexperience, his dodging of questions, and his criticism of Israel. But the democratic socialist counterpunched and drew viewers’ attention to the sexual harassment allegations that drove his rival from office four years ago.

Interestingly, everything changed on January 6, 2021. An insurrection, funded by US President Donald Trump, stormed the US Capitol in Washington during the congressional certification of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's win, resulting in five deaths and prompting the evacuation of lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence. These lyrics refer to revolutions, about kings, queens, emperors, and other rulers who fall from high places after revolutions. The French Revolution, the Chinese Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and the British and US Civil Wars. Each revolution overthrew a powerful central government, with a powerful head of state in a violent and bloody fashion (think "heads on a silver plate"). These lyrics are telling their stories from the point of view of the fallen leader, in a very poetic way, but the message is essentially "Oh, who would ever want to be king?" Because revolutions have occurred over and over in history, and they will continue to occur, but such is the story of life and of humanity.
