A powerful moment of Democratic unity and remembrance has just occurred in the windy city of Chicago Illinois.

Three former U.S. Presidents and a former Vice President gathered in Chicago to honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson during the family’s “Celebration of Hope” memorial service.

Rev. Jackson dedicated decades fighting for civil rights, equality, and justice, leaving a lasting impact on America and the world. His voice, leadership, and courage will continue to inspire generations to come.

What else could go wrong? Is this one hell of a Messopotusamia you’ve gotten us into after a self described man of peace? There are heavy Israeli airstrikes on Tehran and Beirut, retaliatory Iranian attacks, and widespread regional displacement. Global oil markets are bracing for disruption, and multiple nations are evacuating citizens. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/how-many-people-have-been-kil…

We pray that Americans embrace and cultivate multilingual and multicultural assets. There are personal, social, academic, economic, and political benefits to achieving bilingualism from linguistically diverse children’s earliest years.
Children who speak a non-English language at home and can fully develop their emerging bilingualism can maintain stronger connections with their families and heritage, and have stronger cross-cultural connections that expand their social networks.

FROM MAGI TO MAGA

If a lesson of January 6 is that elections can be undone by force, the lesson of Trump v. United States is that accountability can be undone by doctrine. The Court may insist it was protecting the presidency, but the effect was to protect one man. In doing so, it told future presidents exactly how far they can go and how safely.

Christian is the celebration of Jesus' birth with ancient pagan winter solstice festivals, on December 25th, by the 4th-century church to absorb Roman Saturnalia and Yule traditions, incorporating elements like feasting, evergreens, and gift-giving, evolving into the modern holiday through figures like St. Nicholas and German tree customs, becoming a widely celebrated cultural event by the 19th century.
