A TRIPLE CROWN

Submitted by ub on

Besides my wife, my daughters, and my late mom, there’s another lady whom I admire and consider a sister from another mother.

Elena B. Odio, PHd, deserves the triple crown. In a country that celebrates achievement, there is no higher civic honor than the triple crown of service. Professor Odio dedicated her life to teaching students, informing the public, shaping the written word, and serving in the military.

Only a handful of Americans can claim all four roles, and they deserve to be recognized. These individuals are the backbone of a republic built on knowledge, courage, and the relentless pursuit of truth. Elena is a reminder of what actually makes America great.

A true triple crown belongs to those rare individuals who have lived these callings at once as an educator, writer-journalist, and veteran. Professor Odio speaks Spanish, French, German, and English.

Few ever earn even any one of these titles with distinction; fewer still embody all of them. They are custodians of truth, defenders of freedom, and builders of understanding. They are the quiet proof of why America remains, at its core, the greatest nation on earth.
