We are seeing the future of artificial intelligence and AI is now a huge force that poses challenges for all our lives on Earth.

At the end of the day, the primordial point appears to be what is real as opposed to what's false. Academia and the free press are the essential elements in our global community to be able to attain that and find the best obtainable version of the vetted and scientifically verified truth.

In Defense of Humanity. We need a cultural and philosophical movement to meet the rise of artificial superintelligence.

Artificial intelligence is intelligence perceiving, synthesizing, and inferring information demonstrated by machines, as opposed to intelligence displayed by humans or by other animals.

The head of the artificial intelligence company that makes ChatGPT told Congress on Tuesday that government intervention will be critical to mitigating the risks of increasingly powerful AI systems.

Congress ‘must move quickly’ on artificial intelligence legislation https://apnews.com/article/artificial-intelligence-ai-chatgpt-regulatio…

Everyone should worry about the AI's potential for harm which can only happen if there's something like the doomsday machine from Dr Strangelove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3zN4-n8ZWg and it is hooked up to destroy everything if anything happens.

Or perhaps in the film Wargames https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHWjlCaIrQo when they took the humans out of the loop.

Hopefully, that's the kind of safeguards there would be regulations against. But it is already happening to some extent. not with nuclear bombs but with power and has been for 14 years now.

Bitcoin is this giant worldwide power drain over 1,000,000 'miners' or gamblers compete every 10 minutes in a lotto to win 6.26 bitcoins or around $170,000 only one wins the prize

All the rest bought their lotto ticket by burning the power to compete and lost. That power of one miner times a million was lost. The winner of the $170,000 ended up spending a dollar or less to compete but won. The other million people spent a dollar or less and lost. They do this every 10 minutes it is like a robot dropping money into a slot machine and pulling the handle.

Why are we saying this? There is something called difficulty it's a factor as to how hard it is to mine.

It is built into the system and calculated and keeps going up. It's a runaway AI system. it keeps raising the difficulty. it is doing it because of how many people are betting/competing and how much computing power they have. it is a vicious cycle if this difficulty number were 0 like it was when Bitcoin started. people could and were mining with a computer.

As people put more power into it and solved problems quicker this autonomous robotic system naturally makes it harder to compete. burning tons of energy currently to solve a fairly simple problem with a lot of difficulty added to cause it's part of their algorithm this is all to ensure miners would always run to compete in the lotto.

if they could the other people could use the currency no miners no currency trades. It's a runaway intelligence causing huge amounts of power to be used the people who have heavy-duty expensive powerful equipment would not do it if a kid on a cell phone or pc and no big engine could compete and win. It's not fair competition if the biggest engine always wins that's what's happening little weak low power miners can't compete because of difficulty

The swift growth of artificial intelligence technology could put the future of humanity at risk, according to most Americans surveyed in a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Wednesday.

More than two-thirds of Americans are concerned about the negative effects of AI and 61% believe it could threaten civilization.
