BOOMER RAN

Submitted by ub on

As a Baby Boomer I’ve experienced major societal shifts, including the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the rise of mass media and consumer culture.

We are characterized by our work ethic, goal-orientation, and increasing focus on health, wellness, and some hold a significant portion of the nation's wealth.

  • Post-War Context:

Boomers grew up during a time of economic prosperity and societal change, witnessing the Cold War and the space race.

  • Cultural Impact:

They were the first generation to be heavily influenced by mass media, including television and rock and roll music, and they shaped the modern concept of teenagers as consumers.

  • Social Movements:

The generation was deeply affected by the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War, with many participating in anti-war protests.

  • Work and Wealth:

Boomers are known for their strong work ethic and goal-oriented nature, and they possess a substantial amount of U.S. wealth.

  • Health and Wellness:

They are increasingly focused on health and wellness, often engaging in shared decision-making with healthcare providers.
