City Island comes alive multiple times throughout the year, especially during holidays and for our Arts and Crafts Weekend Fairs. Like in many places around the world, America's main streets are often the vital economic, social, and cultural heart of a community. There's something giddy about these places, and they often serve as the heart of a town.
Zooming in: New York City is among the most visited destinations in the world; The Big Apple attracts millions of tourists annually. Whether you're after the steady pulse of City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise - City Island Avenue, like all main streets, is where America truly comes alive. Beyond the state's urban sprawl, each small town's vibrant main street offers a unique glimpse into the USA's most-visited state, away from the parks and the Big Apple’s city life glitz.
Pick any street for a carefree stroll to discover what paradise is about, with a slew of history and tranquility. Unforgettable from start to finish, City Island Avenue delivers a sense of pace and place. Our tiny island enclave, cuts through NYC’s largest Park, prompted an alternative name, "City in the Forest and on the Beach."
The fairs are sponsored by The City Island Chamber of Commerce, established over 100 years ago to unite our local businesses.
Today, just a half hour from Midtown Manhattan, the businesses include unique shops and spaces, restaurants with delicious seafood and cuisine from around the world, galleries, antique stores, cafes, and service enterprises.
