Big Bad John Durham has been blasted out of the courthouse following a final acquittal and after legal eagles laughed him out of court.
Trump’s claim of the Crime of Century fizzles out following a three year probe. Bull Durham struck out after going to bast several times because Bill Barr tried to destroy Mueller’s findings following his investigation. We now learn that it was a bunch of bull crap to say the least. Following millions spent to disprove the Trump received Russian help to win in the 2016 Electoral College, Bull Durham went out like a little lamb.
The Russia probe was properly predicated, legitimate and an effort underway to undercut the Russia investigation…Attorney General William P. Barr appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham to conduct a broader review of the Russia investigation.
Barr was clearly antagonistic to Mueller’s effort, masterfully releasing an aggressively Trump-friendly version of Mueller’s findings before a redacted version of the full report became public.
Much of the sense that Mueller’s investigation came up empty depends on Barr’s framing and a pro-Trump audience primed for that frame.
Trump predicted this special prosecutor would uncover “the crime of the century” — a conspiracy to sink his 2016 campaign. Yet here are the results: two trial acquittals and an attorney sentenced to probation.A final count was two defendants, seven charges, six acquitted with one probation following a plea bargain. What a waste of time and money. In many decades working as a journalist and years working for the US government inside a GOP administration, I have never seen the #MAGA Republicans do this much damage to our nation in a few years.
