My late friend and war hero Captain Leonard Gold would be truly saddened by what’s been happening in the Middle East.
Please, allow me to tell you about one of the members of The Greatest Generation, also known as the G.I. of World War II.
Lenny was a Jewish-American war hero, whom I got to befriend. and he even offered to make an appearance at one of my Yeshiva communication classes. He was a big hit with the young Rabbis in training. In fact, one of them gifted me a Mezuzah is a tradition that blesses the home and reminds us daily of our Judaism. The case holds an important scroll that reflects my style.
Lenny lived the later years of his life in a fantastic apartment in a great Manhattan location with a view of The UN. But that was not where or how his story began.
