Librarians walk upon the earth sharing a wealth of knowledge and the ability to navigate the massive of information and slay any metaphorical demons that come their way. Most know Queen B, now allow me to introduce Queen R who I invited to speak to my students and she is delivering.

It's always a delight to see librarians portrayed in pop culture, whether they're dispensing wisdom, solving mysteries or simply being their wonderful selves. And while any ranking of fictional librarians is bound to be subjective and incomplete, it's a joy to celebrate these characters nonetheless.

These knowledge angels provide free resources, teach free classes, and maintain a safe space for all people. The next time you see your local librarian, take a moment to say, “Thanks for your community education service”

So, without further ado, let's dive into this whimsical and undoubtedly nerdy ranking of the best fictional librarians across various media platforms! Whether you're a seasoned bibliophile or just someone who appreciates a good story, I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy in this delightful exploration of literary guardians and information wizards.

As Black History Month wraps up, allow me to reveal the remarkable story of Virginia Y Lee, a local literary hero who fought against adversity to build the Gainsboro Branch Library and create an extensive Black History Collection. https://www.wdbj7.com/2024/02/21/late-roanoke-librarian-protected-black…

Finally, please remember to frequent your local library and hold on to your library card. Even as an adult, it is an awesome resource. You can borrow books, comics, graphic novels, manga, movies, and video games.

We can also make all of our reservations online from a network of libraries. Our local library doesn’t have that uncommon 1984 graphic novel that we were interested in. The library three towns over has it and can ship it to our local one for pickup!

Also, some library cards come with free streaming apps and subscriptions to online services.

A very cool resource that some folks should use more often, are overlooked, or forgotten.
