By pointing out the inconsistencies in the rationale for imposing tariffs on Canada—such as the existing trade surplus and the irony of targeting a neighbor with whom the U.S. has a strong economic and military alliance—it highlights the deep frustration and embarrassment is obvious.
And any mention of Putin's part in an attempt at NATO's disintegration adds a layer of geopolitical concern, warning of the consequences of undermining international relations. This is a call for the U.S. to recognize the value of its Canadian neighbor and to reconsider actions that could harm that longstanding relationship.
