Although POTUS has publicly said he plans to give every American a $2,000 payment in 2026, funded by tariff revenue, no law has been passed to authorize it.

Right now, it’s a political proposal — not an active program.
If Congress were to pass a law approving it, then the IRS would issue official guidance and a timeline. Until that happens, there is no refund to track, and nothing is being processed.
