The US and China being at odds politically and socially isn’t news. The recent past shows two superpowers diverging economically.

America is in a red-hot quarter of growth. Real GDP clocked in at 3.3 percent for the final three months of 2023 above expectations and adding to a stunning 5 percent growth figure in the quarter before that. These offer an increasing number of soft-landing calls that flowed out of Wall Street

The International Monetary Fund raised its global GDP outlook for the year ahead from 2.9 to 3.1 percent on its projections for continued strength in the USA

China stumbled out of its pandemic lockdowns with mounting debt, deflation, and a troubled real estate market, which have resulted in a flight of foreign investment from the country's financial markets.
