SOCIAL MEDIA & BOOZE

Submitted by ub on

Social media and booze sell their users a vision of unity,  a digital town square where everyone has a voice. NO WAY.

All too often, it delivers the opposite. Behind curated images and hashtags promoting togetherness lies a culture that can reward conflict and amplify division.

We no longer use platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, aka X, which thrive on engagement, and nothing fuels engagement faster than outrage. In chasing clicks and reactions, these platforms sometimes elevate the loudest and most divisive voices, turning what should be social spaces into battlegrounds of negativity. The promise of connection remains, but it competes with systems that too often encourage the opposite.

For years, the GOP raged at these platforms while quietly relying on them, and they returned the favor by absorbing the theatrics while protecting their own power. What may seem like a feud was a convenient arrangement.

Furthermore, anyone who seeks a happy and healthy lifestyle may seriously consider staying away from alcoholic beverages. They are poisonous, and studies point to this widely accepted finding.
