I was reminded by a text that I had a pre-scheduled dental appointment for my bi-annual checkup. No one I know likes to go there.
The good news is that when I arrived, the TV monitor was playing Family Feud. When I walked out, the Sabrina Soto Show was playing on ROKU in the waiting room.. Then I learned that I don't have gum disease, but the dentist told me I need a crown. I said NO KINGS, and she seemed to understand.
On the way there, people were driving like monsters. Not following speed limits or any of the standard rules of the road.
Now that half the day is gone, I await the Halloween Parade here in NYC.
A day of little surprises, some annoying, some oddly comforting. I loved listening to Nina Simone while dodging NYC monster drivers.

I am glad not to have gum disease; that is excellent news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgp3d_OAmPA&list=RDjgp3d_OAmPA&start_ra…

I need a crown. This is pretty common; it’s a cap to protect a damaged tooth. If you want to know more, search for (porcelain, metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal), costs, longevity, or questions to ask Google or your dentist.

Dental anxiety tips: ask about topical numbing or nitrous. Next time, I will bring headphones and a playlist, breathe slowly, and ask the dentist to pause if I need breaks.

For the NYC Halloween Parade: I must get there early, wear comfy shoes, bring water, and be ready for crowds and street closures; it’s worth it for the costumes.
For more spooky-sounding music to match Nina Simone, I listened to Billie Holiday, Tom Waits, Portishead, Marianne Faithfull, Kate Bush, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins... etc
