Top of the morning to you is usually associated with the Irish and denotes the meaning of best of the morning to all of you!

It is a more creative way to say “good morning” which can be responded with “and the rest of the morning to you.” Although the expression is tagged as a typical part of Irish phrases.

St. Patrick might be the patron saint of Ireland—but he didn’t always live in Ireland. Patrick was born in Britain in the fourth century and didn’t arrive in Ireland until he was 16 years old when he was sent to work in the country. After he arrived, Patrick became interested in Christianity and started teaching others about the religion. He is said to have converted many of the country’s residents to Christians, and now St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on the day Patrick supposedly died.

Saint Patrick's Day, or in Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick" is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century and is observed.
