ARTIC AIR

Submitted by Admin on

The Cold town, winter in New York City, where temperatures may struggle to get much past the freezing mark next weekend.

Freezing temperatures will moderate from west to east during the second week of January.

The moisture will spread northeast toward the region. Clouds will increase overnight, and light precipitation is expected to move into the area from the southwest during the morning hours Monday.

There is a concern that some cold air could be trapped in portions of the interior, and freezing rain, drizzle, and even sleet could result. The most vulnerable locations for this occurrence would be
interior northern New Jersey and the lower Hudson Valley. Other locations are expecting a light rain event.

Another wave of moisture will follow the Monday and Monday evenings event. More rain is anticipated by Tuesday afternoon and night.

After that, look for much colder air for the mid and especially the later portion of the week.
