Event: Reporting Safely in Crisis Zones

This three-day workshop, led by Judith Matloff, will show how to operate with caution in volatile situations, with an emphasis on conflicts. We discuss how to avoid unnecessary peril, with careful preparations before, during and after assignments. Participants will emerge with a better understanding of how to hire fixers, shun attackers or protect computers. Event: Journalism & Women Symposium Conference and Mentoring Project

Women journalists from around the country will gather for a weekend of professional development, training, and career enrichment at the 28th annual Journalism & Women Symposium Conference and Mentoring Project (CAMP). Since 1985 the Journalism & Women Symposium (JAWS) has been a driving force in the support of women in journalism and is dedicated to a more accurate portrayal of women in the news and the whole society. JAWS CAMP has evolved into a must-attend weekend where women get a chance to talk with top newsmakers, political analysts, and other movers and shakers, as well as develop their job skills and receive confidential individual mentoring in a relaxed setting away from daily deadlines.
