Last night, I listened, watched, and learned from two lovely ladies who were communicating over #WeChat about applying makeup.
They are both successful, professional, and well-educated mothers in the prime of their lives. One who is my wife has a finance degree and the other, her younger sister holds advanced degrees in public health. The video conversation was also about the time-consuming and expenses that are required in purchasing and storing cosmetics.
Topics ranged from foundation, mascara and eyeliner, concealer, and face powder. Also watching videos on how to apply makeup like the pros with expert #DIY Tutorials and tips from celebrity makeup artists.
It once again became clear after all these years that being a woman is much more difficult and not just because of makeup, but the fine art of multitasking, because while all this was happening, motherhood is all about managing the children.
Interestingly enough, at the suggestion of my daughter, I purchased a makeup product gift card for my granddaughter, who is the most beautiful teenager in the whole wide world. Now the realization of emphasizing the application of makeup products made me a participant in this seemingly endless lifestyle cycle.
My final thoughts are to never give in to the temptation of thinking that beauty is only skin deep. Beauty comes from within and makeup is not necessary to make any woman gorgeous. it is her heart, soul, and inner beauty that will always prevail.
In other words, Beauty is only skin deep is a song and a phrase that a person's physical appearance does not determine who the individual is. Its commonly used as a reminder that she may look attractive, but may not have attractive inner qualities.
