On this weekend before Thanksgiving, I want to express my love to my family, and appreciation to friends, neighbors and last but certainly not least, muchas gracias to my students. Por favor sean amable decente y buena gente.
Every one of us is different and this makes each person a wonderful human being.
Some folks may be facing distressing times where they’re polarized by expressing outrage and disdain in strange ways. For example, because of my personal views and opinions, I have been singled out by some family members and neighbors.
Certainly, politicians and pundits reinforce this way of behaving and I fear our next generation hears this loud and clear.
Whatever happened to life lesson number 1? “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
If we treat those around us with respect, love and tolerance would others treat more folks the same way? It shouldn’t take a genius to realize that if people treated each other this way, our lives would be more than okay. And it’s unlikely they would build animosity towards all by simply reciprocating their earnest actions and feelings.
During one of my assignments, I recall meeting Mr. Rogers and interviewing him while I was a younger newsman. I appreciated the way he shared his kindness and for that, I will always be thankful.
May I add that I hope and pray that family members and neighbors who I may not agree with me in terms of personal viewpoints may increasingly reach a similar conclusion? Therefore, to everyone reading thus far... Thanks, gracias, xiexie. 🙏 Peace on Earth...
