This hollowed place was founded to preserve and promote the artistic, historical, and cultural legacy of Cubans in exile, The museum focuses especially on those who resettled in the U.S. after the 1959 Cuban Revolution. Through compelling exhibits, powerful storytelling, and artistic expression, The Cuban serves as both a cultural hub and an educational beacon a place where heritage is honored and truth is never forgotten.

I went to Versailles Restaurant last night to meet Cuban political prisoners, and it was also an emotional experience for me. It reminded me of the proletariat hardships they have experienced for speaking out against the repressive Cuna Communist regime.
The American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora has quickly become the cultural heart of Cuban Miami, featuring live theater, performing arts, and rotating exhibits that celebrate the greatest artists and thinkers of the Cuban Diaspora, telling stories that cross borders.
Its permanent exhibit honors the courage of those who, with cries of “Viva Cristo Rey,” chose to die standing rather than live kneeling, endured imprisonment for speaking out, or built new lives as exiles, “sin patria, pero sin amo.”
Through this exhibit, visitors will recognize the threats to freedom today by exploring how a once-prosperous Cuba fell to dictatorship, and the enduring struggle to rebuild. At its core, the exhibit celebrates the American Dream, reflecting an immigrant community that thrives in America, cherishes its adopted home, and believes in its promise as a beacon of hope.
