CASTRO'S FUTURE?

Submitted by ub on

Cuba's top leadership is meeting in a closed conclave that may generate major changes for the communist island's political and economic future.

The National Congress of the Cuban Communist Party takes place less than one month after President Obama made a historic visit, and is expected to deal with the influx of American tourists and investment headed their way.

This meeting takes place every five years, but this time, it is also going to address a succession plan for the aging Castro brothers. Revolutionary founder Fidel is 89, and his younger sibling, who is the oldest ruling Latin American dictator Raul Castro is 84 years old.
