The lifeless body of father of a fisherman was found yesterday floating off one of our City Island marinas hours after Hurricane Irene punched through this area. According to officials, he may be NYC's only reported storm-related fatality.
He was José Sierra, a 68 year old plumber and Bronx resident, who arrived at the Sunset Marina at around 8 a.m., at the height of the storm, and waved to the its owner as he checked on his prized 16-passenger boat, which he had purchased a week earlier. The marina owner found his body floating late in the afternoon. The father of 13 died trying to save his property.
