According to UN scientists, global emissions are reaching record levels and show no sign of peaking. The past four years were the four hottest on record, and Winter temperatures in the Arctic have risen by 3°C since 1990.
Sea levels are rising, coral reefs are dying, and we are starting to see the life-threatening impact of climate change on our health, through air pollution, heatwaves and risks to food security.
The climate change revolution is being carried live on CNN during a seven-hour event today. 10 Democratic 2020 presidential hopefuls agreed to appear back-to-back with journalists answering questions from American studio audiences.
Each presidential hopeful will have 40 minutes in the hot seT, and each segment will include an anchor interviewing a candidate.
The live TV event will go on for seven hours with former HUD secretary, Julian Castro up first beat 5 p.m. ET, and the nine others will follow.
To qualify, each candidate had to reach 2% in at least four Democratic National Committee-approved polls conducted between June 28 and Aug. 21 in order to qualify for this one on one question and answer forum.
