When I was a little boy, my grandpa worried about our homeland and he was correct. My family left it all behind to begin a new life because homegrown individuals sold our nation out to the Russians.
Meet my 2-year-old granddaughter Olivia watching the news. I worry about her and how to explain the way government leaders are acting here stinks, so they either change their evil ways or we're all doomed.
The President and Congress are just days away from their major poop show with a US government shutdown.
One of these three things is bound to happen:
1/A - US government shuts down because fighting over money has dangerously brought us closer to a meltdown, where all non-essential government stops, including federally funded research and national parks.

2/B - We stay open, without an immigration deal over the so-called future of aliens. If Congress keeps the government open, it means Democrats are left without a deal on major immigration priorities. This would almost certainly be a short-term government spending gap because they don’t have enough time to write a full spending bill in a few days. https://youtu.be/EUS1m5MSt9k
3/C - Our government stays open, with a deal on the future of illegal aliens. Immigration talks have been on shaky ground ever since Trump reportedly complained about immigrants from “s-hole” African countries, saying the US should take more immigrants from Norway instead. It’s unlikely that Congress will have an immigration bill by the Friday deadline, which also happens to be my wife's birthday. A spending agreement with an immigration deal that has Congressional support and the White House’s approval is a major win.

And believe it or not, this isn't the worst part. How do I explain that women are still not treated equally and being harassed? That US life expectancy has dropped for the second year in a row? And last but not least, the increased risk of serious confrontations between world powers, including military conflicts is rising at an alarming trend?
