The Los Angeles Dodgers have now won the World Series of Baseball for two consecutive years in a row, and for the first time in decades.
The Toronto Blue Jays earned the City Images consolation prize for having played a wonderful series and for being such great sports.
- The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in 11 innings in Game 7 to become the first back-to-back World Series champions in 25 years.
- Miguel Rojas tied the game with a ninth-inning home run, and Will Smith’s 11th-inning home run provided the go-ahead run in a dramatic comeback.
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched multiple innings, including the final three outs, despite throwing 96 pitches the night before.
