Executive Disorder

Executive disorder or should we be calling it an executive who is increasingly out of order, executive dysfunction, or executive function deficit, which is cognitive processes that regulate, control, and manage other cognitive processes.

Executive dysfunction can refer to both neurocognitive deficits and behavioral symptoms. It is implicated in numerous psychopathologies and mental disorders, as well as short-term and long-term changes in non-clinical executive control.

As a publication working to inform and promote equity, while driving social change for over a half decade, #CityImages stands with all present and future Americans, including immigrants, refugees, and marginalized communities, who enter this great nation to make a better life for themselves and their families.

POTUS Executive Order does nothing for the 2,300 children separated from their families, and it may lead to families being detained together indefinitely, breaking the federal settlement that states children can only be detained for 20 days.

The separation of children from their folks creates a cycle of trauma that hurts all of us including those who witness, sanction and carry out these actions. And while this is painful for everyone, we know policies like these impact families of color with deeper and more devastating implications. It is unjust and inhumane.

Sadly, this latest GOP sanctioned action is not new in American history. As we deal with this atrocity from this Republican-controlled US House, The Senate and The Whitehouse, we know the separation of families has been long-standing policy from slavery to World Wars and all the way to the modern day mass incarceration of adults and children of color and therefore reaffirms our commitment to call out this injustice.

We who really do care are constantly motivated by doing the best job we can for our visitors, who may be exhausted but please rest assured that we will continue to serve and advance our collective humanity. SALUD
