Far Out Man

The phrase far out may not just mean advanced, experimental, nonconformist, avant-garde, unusual, innovative, or unconventional.

As it turns out, it could be a shortened version of fart out, and therefore may not be as unusual, eccentric, or unconventional. radical, and extreme. Two well-known individuals were reportedly fond of the extreme gas expulsion.

Back in 1781 while he was living abroad as United States Ambassador to France, this was his example of flatulence humor. "Fart Proudly" is the popular name of an essay about flatulence written by Benjamin Franklin.

But even earlier on, among Mozart’s scatology works is a letter he wrote on 5 November 1777 to his cousin Maria Anna Thekla Mozart. the original version of the poem has rhymed lines. Then f in your bed and make it burst.
