There is also a low chance for strong to damaging winds during the Thursday night into Friday night time period, particularly for Long Island and Southeastern Connecticut.

More rainfall is forecast across the Lower to Mid-Miss. and Tennesse River Valleys today into Wednesday, which will exacerbate the ongoing flood threat. Several days of Elevated-to-Critical fire weather expected in the Southern Plains this week.
Hundreds of river gauges have reported levels above flood stage from the Great Lakes to Texas. Floodwaters on the Ohio River in Louisville and Cincinnati are at their highest level in over 20 years and have stranded residents, ruined cars and submerged local homes and businesses. At least five deaths nationwide are blamed on flooding and tornadoes that struck this weekend.
