Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, is a retired ⚽️ soccer Superstar. Widely regarded as the greatest football player of all time, he is among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.
He learned as a kid, with his father Dondinho, that football is an instrument for the greater good. He learned that lesson when his das saw him dribbling a weaker opponent without any need and said to always respect rivals. Pele took that for life, always using his talent for love and peace.
I met Pele as a young news reporter in Miami and interviewed him in Spanish while he answered my questions in Portuguese. He told me how he stared his career. Pelé began playing for Santos at age 15 and the Brazil national team at 16. During his international career, he won three FIFA World Cups: 1958, 1962 and 1970. He was the only player ever to do so. Pelé is the all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil.
The ladies send you Beijos and we gentlemen, abracos for a healthy 80 years young... Feliz Aniversário Obrigado, Pele!
