Whether we call it a hoagie, a grinder, a submarine, a steak sandwich, a Philly, or a Cuban Sandwich... The one thing that remains: A hero is about as delightful as a sandwich can be and I know because I had the pleasure and honor of posing for this photo op with my students at #NYPL New York Public Library on my birthday.
Thanks to all of you who agreed to join me after class. To the other half who were on their way somewhere and could not wait, or just refused, I understand. It could be because you're shy, or someone is looking for you, or perhaps you are on the witness protection program... etc.
Whatever the case, I totally get it, but do not forget to turn in your homework. OKAY?
I am committed to the academic success of all of my students and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and our collective differences.
To this end, I will try to work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings. In addition, I am ready to join my students in a shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and for the public good.
You're all my heroes and make me feel like a hero after every class. Thanks, gracias...etc.
