Cuban descendants and those born there like me do not mince words while making personal comments on the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Cuban-born singer Gloria Estefan, journalist Soledad O'Brien, sports slugger Jose Canseco and superstar actor Andy Garcia, model and television host Daisy Fuentes, and many others denounced Castro's annihilation of those with an opposing view, the indiscriminate jailing of innocents, the censure of people's freedom to speak, state-sanctioned terrorism and the economic dismantling of a successful economy as well as the separation of millions of family members.
The thing Castro, who was educated by the Jesuits will be best known for is not religion, health nor education, but denying the people of Cuba what is commonly known as BLD: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was no human rights nor democracy, the one thing both Castro brothers have done well is holding onto power.
If Cubans who are stuck in that communist island do not show up to pay homage at Revolution Square for the mass mourning for Fidel Castro, they better watch their backs when they cry out Cuba si, Castro no!
As a Cuban media maestro, I was born under the extreme right-wing dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. My family left everything behind when we fled the extreme left-wing dictatorship of Fidel Castro. I can assure you neither method is best for any nation on earth.
