Happy Friday, folks. TGIF. Celebrate with a cold brew, or maybe two from the vast selections available to you. On this International Beer Day, City Images invites all beer drinkers to raise a frozen mug to one of the most widely beloved alcoholic drinks ever.

Beer is one of the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic beverages in the world, and the third most popular drink overall after water and tea, believe me. Beer is brewed from cereal grains most commonly from malted barley, though wheat, maize, and rice are also used.

International Beer Day is celebrated in over 200 cities globally. This very special Highliday comes just in time because although some say that beer has lost its head, others insist they it remains the alcoholic beverage of choice among Americans, according to Gallup poll.

It has been popular enough for Guinness to open a new brewery near Baltimore, the first U.S. brewery that the Dublin, Ireland-based producer has operated in more than 63 years.
