The Archdiocese of New York, in collaboration with the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Center and Diversified Production Services, proudly presents A Journey in Faith, a very special afternoon program of prayer, reflections, and devotional music for parishioners to attend ahead of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered by His Holiness, Pope Francis, on September 25th at Madison Square Garden. Doors for this event will open promptly at 2PM and the show will commence at 3PM. His Holiness, Pope Francis, will arrive at 6:15PM and Mass will begin at 6:30PM.
Featuring performances by Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Estefan, Harry Connick, Jr., James “D Train” Williams, Kelli O’Hara, Norm Lewis, Broadway Inspirational Voices, Joseph Joubert, Saint Charles Borromeo Choir with Rob Mathes serving as Musical Director and appearances by Martin Sheen, Rosanna Scotto, among many other special guests, A Journey in Faith offers attendees the opportunity to reflect and prepare for Mass through the recitation of the Rosary, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and prayerful worship in song.
Tickets to A Journey in Faith and Mass have been disbursed through the Archdiocese of New York and her parishes.

Rob Mathes, Musical Director
Rob Mathes is an Emmy winning, Tony and Grammy nominated arranger/composer and music producer/director. He has produced recordings by Sting, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Bettye LaVette, Vanessa Williams, the band Panic At The Disco and others. He won the Emmy for his work on the Kennedy Center Honors, a program he’s musically directed for a decade. He directed Obama’s Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial and PBS’s Great Performances 40th Anniversary Special. He’s arranged and conducted music for artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Lou Reed, Beck, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and Tony Bennett and also Classical artists like Yo Yo Ma, Luciano Pavarotti, BrynTerfel and Renée Fleming. He’s written the soundtrack for two HBO documentaries, one about Thurgood Marshall starring Lawrence Fishburne and the Pulitzer Prize winning Herblock. Rob has written music for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Nashville Symphony, The National Symphony and The Royal Philhamonic. In 2014 he supervised and orchestrated Sting’s Broadway show The Last Ship.
