I like to call City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise because it is a quaint peaceful place on the most northeastern point of New York City.
After I moved here a couple of decades ago I learned that this sleepy seaside village is the complete opposite of of Manhattan’s hustle and bustle. However, on Holidays, including July Fourth, City Island Avenue, which is the main strip crossing the mile-long tiny island, becomes a parking lot with folks celebrating at our many restaurants. Then, add the fireworks-worshiping neighbors and last night wasn’t fit for man nor beast.
What happens to our body and brain whenever we do not get enough sleep?
