It has now been about a week since running back Ray Rice was indefinitely suspended from the National Football League for punching and knocking out his then-fiancee and believe it or not, now-wife inside a hotel elevator, back in February.
This put the media and political focus on previous lax attitude towards domestic violence. Now Carolina Panthers have decided that it would be a good time to make a decision on an old situation that apparently no one knew about. The NFL team benched defensive end Greg Hardy, who was convicted in July of assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend. Yesterday, his coach explained the decision by explaining that the climate has now changed.
Climate change was used to explain global warming, but it is now apparently a new code terminology for Rice, and the pressure on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to make an end run and resign for his handling, or lack thereof of the violent incident, aka assault.
In another you should never invade anyone's space by striking them. NFL never-hit-people news, star running back Adrian Peterson who actually already lost a child to alleged abuse by his ex’s boyfriend earlier this year has now been charged for the weekend with child abuse of his son. He also sat out yesterday’s game... ITS A DANGEROUS GAME WORTH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
Violence is the biggest barrier to inequality. But violence is not something men are born to commit, or children and women have to be subjected to. Violence acts are a social norm that way too many cultures still tolerate, or even cultivate. A man who punches a woman, or a child is not a real man.
What is NFL? No female love, never follow laws...etc.
