Wrapping up a wonderful Valentines' Day Weekend, my wife Yirong and I invited loved ones like her little sister, her son who is also our Godson, his friends and their mothers to a special gathering for a unique historic awareness conversation and some surprises. We had a chance to meet and greet George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and finally Warren Harding.
Ms.Yao and her son Kevin 5 who's now years old and still celebrating his birthday, Ms.Yanlin and her son Eric 2 years old and last but certainly not least, delightful Deena and her gifted son 3-year-old Matthew, who may someday grow up to serve as US President Pai. Matt reads and speaks a couple of languages while listening to his favorite Benny Goodman vintage recordings. His mother Deena Wang has home trained him from birth. She pleased the crowd by playing the 18-century pipe organ inside St Paul's Church. What a wonderful treat for our eyes, ears and minds alike. https://vimeo.com/manage/392282130/general
We gathered at Saint Paul's Church National Historic Site https://www.nps.gov/sapa/learn/historyculture/index.htm It was first established in 1665, in Eastchester and now known as Mt. Vernon. Since it was Presidents Day, and I like to say. two out of three great men ain't too bad for government work.
According to research, which includes public opinion polls and surveys, three POTUS 2 of the most popular Presidents and one of the least liked. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_presidents_of_the_…
We were graced with special appearances by the likes of General George Washington https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington, Honest Abe Lincoln https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Lincoln
and Warren Harding, popular until the real truth was known after his death. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_G._Harding
Special thanks to David Osborne, a wonderful historian with the St. Paul's Church National Historic Site, for an engaging and information-packed tour about the church's role in our nation's history and its connections to Abraham Lincoln. 151 years ago, in April of 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. It's a story that we all know very well. However, it isn't as well known that St. Paul's Church in Mount Vernon has a striking and surprising connection to that terrible and historic event. The Church is part of the National Parks Service which is celebrating its 103rd anniversary.
