Reportero Sincero Habanero

your-ballot-your-ballot-was-counted

Like my initials RS, soy Reportero, Sincero y Habanero means I was born in Habana and I am a sincere reporter. I’m also hot blooded though by no means the hottest.

This Habanero may have been first cultivated thousands of years ago or so-to have subsequently spread all around Earth, in The Caribbean, The Americas, as well as throughout other nations in Europe and Asia.

My birthplace was once a major trading port known as La Habana, CUBA and to this day it conjures up images of a gorgeous city ravished by history and politics.

Cuba channels many memories and the spirits of La Caridad del Cobre, José Martí, Desi Arnaz, Ernesto Lecuona, Benny Moré, Guillermo Alvarez Guedes, Minnie Miñoso, René Arocha and so many other Cubanos.

I'm the youngest of three T & AA parents. My mother worked as a Teacher, and my father was an Attorney and Architect. The importance of faith, health, the value of an education, the benefits of rigorous training and community service were always clear.

My parents were intelligent, witty, hard-working individuals who always made an effort to enjoy family time. They also encouraged us to value and respect equality, culture, to participate in sports and to provide community service.

I attended a Christian Brothers school in Cuba but completed my education in the United States earning advanced degrees, where I became fascinated by communications and higher education.

In Media, I served in various content development and media management positions. In academia, I've enjoyed a few distinguished visiting professorships and guest lecturer positions at several private colleges, and public universities.

In my first position as a college intern for a television station, I made a deal with my employer that he would pay me a low starting salary and if he was not satisfied, we'd call it quits. My job performance was excellent and everything worked out just fine from there.

Interest in travel, learning, along with visual, performing and fine arts, cultures, languages, and media, combined with community involvement, have helped me become a gentle leader an active team player, and effective motivator. Amen, RS aka Uncle BoB
