The number of deaths at a Florida nursing home reportedly rises to 8. These multiple deaths are from one South Florida nursing home as a result of seniors suffering without air conditioning after being left without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, according to local officials.
Emergency crews responded when some patients at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills were in need of critical care. The 152-bed nursing home is located in Broward County, just north of Miami.
Over a hundred patients were evacuated from the center, and three residents were found dead and three others died at the hospital. Two more deaths were reported later Wednesday.
