Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who serves as Archbishop of New York, will be attending a religious prayer service on Staten Island to honor the 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians killed by ISIS in Libya.
These services are sponsored by leaders of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York and New England. The service will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 7-9PM at the Archangel Michael and St. Mina Coptic Church 4095 Amboy Road. Cardinal Dolan will be arriving, while the prayer service is underway.
Prayers will be offered for the ISIS victims and their families, as well as the continued protection of the Church. The service will invoke the recent message from His Holiness, Pope Francis, in response to these attacks, proclaiming solidarity among all Christians whether Catholic, Orthodox, Coptic, or Protestant.
