Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held during the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This Saturday is always the last one in November, so falls between November 24 and November 30. It has been estimated that 104 million shoppers will spend approximately $17 billion this year.

In 2010, it was created to help small businesses gain attention in their local communities. In a similar, alternative-shopping vein, tomorrow brings Museum Store Sunday, when museums and other cultural institutions offer shoppers unique options.
