The East is getting slammed with its fourth nor'easter of the month to unleash rain, snow, ice, and wind across the Ohio Valley, the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Residents from just north of Baltimore to Philadelphia, New York City and close to Boston could get over a foot of snow.
In the West, Southern California is expected to get several inches of rain through Thursday. Flash flooding is a serious concern near Los Angeles due to recent burn scars from wildfires.
Very heavy rainfall event is developing in California, especially, Southern California over the next few days. Several inches of rain may lead to flash flooding, including mud and debris flows from burn scar areas. Several feet up to 5 feet is expected in the mountains.
Meanwhile back on the east coast, the 4th Nor'easter in 3 weeks has brought another round of gusty winds, with heavy snown and coastal flooding expected.
A Gale Warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 34 to 47 kt are expected or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
