Everyone knows the Republican mascot is an elephant, but can anyone decipher what the head of that party is saying, or thinking and does @realdonaldtrump have a leg to stand on? Things may not be as they initially appear and perhaps even looking grim.
He’s promised inclusion but offered no solution embracing delusion by selling the division, and confusion. The American political reality is increasingly developing negative issues by @POTUS not polling over 50 percent when USA voters are asked whether they approve of his performance and recent polls have put his presidential approval in the thirty percent range. Additionally, over half of the registered voters say they would not vote for him in 2020, compared to 28 percent who would.
This poll is the worst number for any of the recent presidents about whom this question was asked. And in spite of a healthy economy and low unemployment rates, support among Trump’s base appears to be shrinking, his approval ratings are slipping inside The GOP, white evangelical Christians, suburban men, and those without a college degree. http://poll-dancing.doseofnews.com/
And hanging over his presidency is a dark cloud that only appears to get darker as convictions of his associates roll up as a result of investigations. Trump demanded that congressional Democrats not investigate him in his #SOTU saying “If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation. It just doesn’t work that way.” The real question is why say you this if you have not done anything wrong, and if so then how do you explain the present and future indictments along with the guilty pleas? Back in 1974 during a #SOTU, Republican President Richard Milhous Nixon, the 37th president of the United States from 1969 until 1974 was so far the only one to resign from the position also called for an end to investigations, just as @realDonaldTrump did last night. What will President Trump do with the investigations hanging over his head? He is really trying to paint a picture of a successful presidency and tried hard to bring troops home from the Middle East and Afghanistan and brags about the so-called ISIS defeat.
Unfortunately, neither the #USA intelligence community nor the #Republicans agree with him or his strategy. No doubt the economy and employment numbers are his strong suit, but what's up, or perhaps down with his ties?
American taxpayers are divided along party lines as to how much #POTUS is responsible for the strong economy. But to the extent that the economy continues on its current path, it helps Trump. So, that is why we heard exaggerations about the #USA economy.
Finally, his #SOTU address before a joint session of #Congress was long on rhetoric, short on unity. POTUS renewed his call for a border wall, praised bipartisan criminal justice legislation, and lashed out against abortion supporters and the lawmakers who investigate him.
