Scientists have reportedly reached a breakthrough in their search for the remains of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, who was a Spanish novelist, a poet, and a brilliant playwright.
His remains were recently found inside a Madrid convent, where the author of "Don Quixote" was buried in 1616. Their investigation to identify the Barefoot Brother of The Holy Trinity focused on Madrid's historic Barrio de Las Letras, or Literary Quarter, which began last year and 400 years after his demise.
The cause of death for Spain's much-loved giant of literature, is listed as Dropsy, the accumulation of large amounts of excess fluid below the surface of the skin or in some cavity of the body. Inflammation is often one of the underlying causes for this condition and can occur just about anywhere in the body. Its a type of obstruction in the vessels running through our legs. Fluid begins to build up, leading to swelling in the leg and the ankle.
