The costly 20-year war in Afghanistan finally ends as the final American military cargo plane flies out of the city of Kabul.
War what was it good for? Killing Americans and Afghans as well as wasting USA taxpayers' funds on foreign soil instead of investing in our depleted infrastructure. The next time the US is attached, the military should respond and move on. It is very clear the USA can afford President Biden’s recommended investments at home. Take a look at how much American tax dollars were spent on the war.
More than 2,400 U.S. military personnel and nearly 50,000 Afghan civilians died in the 20-year war, in addition to tens of thousands of casualties among U.S. contractors, the Afghan military and national police, insurgents, and others, The cumulative cost of the war including operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan was $2.31 trillion, according to new figures published this week by the Costs of War project. Americans should thank POTUS joe for saying no and letting go. Unlike past presidents all of whom could see the futility of the Afghan war, Joe Biden had the political courage to end our involvement.
