Tornado and severe thunderstorm watches are in place through Saturday night for portions of North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. Storms with heavy rain and local flooding will continue from the northeast to the mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, record warm temperatures are possible for many of the western states.

PASSES THROUGH THE REGION TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. THE RAIN
COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT TONIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF
SUNDAY MORNING. AS THE LOW CONTINUES TO MOVE OFF TO THE
NORTHEAST...SOME AREAS COULD SEE BREAKS IN THE CLOUD COVER SUNDAY
AFTERNOON...ALTHOUGH THE THREAT FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
REMAIN...PARTICULARLY FARTHER NORTH AND WEST.

BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW...A WEAK AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL
BUILD IN FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE WORK WEEK. THIS WILL RESULT IN
MOSTLY DRY CONDITIONS ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY BEFORE AN APPROACHING
FRONT BRINGS A RENEWED CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN SLIGHTLY BELOW
