WH Security Clearance

Submitted by ub on

Starting today, White House employees who have had access to classified information under temporary security clearances will have them revoked.

A security clearance is a US Government determination for access to classified information. The term “eligibility for access” means the same thing as security clearance and is used in record systems and by personnel security specialists.

This move s part of a security overhaul in the wake of the Rob Porter domestic abuse allegations, which applies to employees for whom background investigations have been pending since June.

It appears these changes, which were announced last week by Chief of Staff John Kelly include Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, who's been working on an interim clearance for more than a year.

However, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that "nothing that has taken place will affect the valuable work that Jared is doing.
