He was working behind the bar before he could legally drink. Soon to be twenty-one-year-old YC was waiting and bartending to pay the bills, but the job awoke a passion for service and the proper crafting of a cocktail.
A couple of years later, YC serves Self-inspired craft cocktails that he thoughtfully developed. You’ll find classics, but what he stirs up for patrons on a particular day depends on many factors, including the day of the week, the holiday and last but not least... The weather.
YC and his family emigrated to the US when he was a small child, and today he continues to draw influence from across the globe. The drinks industry doesn’t really have any borders, and because of that, he's been able to connect to people throughout the world about cocktails.
The diverse nature of NYC, its chefs, and the energy adds an influence on his cocktail repertoire.
What YC pours on a rare night off: “It varies, and I drink for the occasion. When I do have time to make a drink for myself, it’s usually boozy and stirred, leaning on something that’s old-fashioned, or a classic gin martini—he calls that my ‘getting dressed’ martini. It’s a great way to start the night off on the right footing. Cheers and Happy New Year.
Happy Holidays to you and your happy cocktails.
