The star studded concert for a Super-storm with a female name was top heavy with male performers and ran so long that it ended 6 hours later into 12/13/12. The performances were exciting, but dominated by way too many old men performing on stage.

92 year old Ravi Shankar was a high profile Indian sitarist and composer, whose collaborations with Western classical musicians as well as rock stars helped foster a worldwide appreciation of India’s traditional music. He dies in a hospital near his home in Southern California.

His music transcended trends and cultural barriers. Here is one TV clip from The Dick Cavett Show. He is being introduced by former Beatles guitarist, George Harrison. The other is a rhythm bonanza.

Red Cross Helps The Less Fortunate

We at City Island Images have been uplifted to hear encouraging stories of resilience. We hope that those impacted by Hurricane Sandy are not discouraged and will continue to rebuild their lives, as well as lend a helping hand to others along the Eastern seaboard.

In this same spirit, we are incredibly pleased and proud to share with all of you that our organization has reached out and donated to the American Red Cross for their Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

City Island Images is proud to support the Red Cross and the impact of their work for those affected by the hurricane.

More than 15,200 Red Cross workers have been deployed from all 50 states. About 90% of these workers are volunteers.

The Red Cross has served nearly 8 million meals and snacks.

The Red Cross has distributed more than 6.1 million relief items such as hygiene kits, clean-up kits, clothing, work gloves and mops.

The Red Cross has made more than 91,700 health and mental health consultations.

10,000 labor union workers from throughout Michigan and the. Midwest are expected to march on the state capitol in freezing temperatures to protest the likely passage of a "right-to-work" law.

The state of Michigan has the fifth highest percentage of unionized workers in the US at 17.5 percent and the Detroit area is headquarters for General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co and Chrysler.

Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has agreed to a settlement with the hotel maid who accused him of sexual assault, according to a New York jurist. However, details of the 63-year-old's agreement with Nafissatou Diallo are confidential.

Strauss-Kahn had been charged with attempted rape and then resigned from his IMF post.
Mr Strauss-Kahn had previously admitted to a "moral failing", but insisted their sexual encounter was consensual.

In the wake of Ms Diallo's accusations, other women came forward with sexual assault allegations against him.
